Awards for maximum performance. With minimal fuel consumption.

Audi's efficiency technologies not only produce spectacular results – they also bring tangible rewards in the shape of international awards and accolades. Audi has always taken on a vast array of challenges and will seek to demonstrate the effectiveness of its efficiency technologies in the future, too. In worldwide automotive competitions spotlighting efficiency, Audi consistently represents the benchmark and is regularly among the leaders.

e-car-award 2010                                                                                     The Audi A1 e-tron was the winner of the “e-car-award,” presented this year for the very first time. The innovative Mega City Vehicle (MCV) with electric drive was selected the winner from a field of 24 models, with 36,212 readers of Germany’s “AUTO TEST” trade publication casting votes. The Audi e-tron show car, which was shown at the beginning of the year at the Detroit Motor Show, took fourth place.

Green Car of the Year 2010
The Audi A3 was declared eco-friendliest car in the USA. The TDI® developing 103 kW (140 bhp) fended off the challenge of all its hybrid and diesel competitors to win the "Green Car of the Year Award" at the Los Angeles Motor Show. This award serves as the benchmark for efficient innovations.

Michelin Challenge Bibendum
The Audi A5 lightweight-construction prototype secured overall victory in the eco rally. The race over 350 kilometres involving a field of around 80 vehicles is the showcase competition of the Michelin Challenge Bibendum. Other successes: the Audi e-tron won the design award and the production version of the Audi A3 TDI® with an output of 77 kW (105 bhp) ranked consistently among the best.

RCN Green Challenge
Two standard Audi TT 2.0 TFSI® models entered the efficiency race, finishing in 1st and 4th place. Over each lap of 20.8 kilometres, the Audi TT Coupé clocked fuel consumption of just 1.6 litres. The winner consequently bettered the standard city consumption serving as the benchmark by 28 % – a feat unmatched by any other participant.

Silvretta
Audi won the first “Silvretta E-Auto Rally Montafon 2010” with the Audi R8 e-tron. The 230 kW (313 bhp) R8 e-tron technology demonstrator was pitted against 23 other electric cars over three days of racing, clinching victory in the overall standings by more than half a second.
